Welcome to The Glasgow Food Blog. I love Glasgow, and I love food. It's a match made in heaven.

Review: Villiers & Co

Villiers & Co
48 Woodlands Road, Glasgow West End G3 6RU

Wine and cheese are two of my favourite things on the planet. But there's not really a wine bar in Glasgow that floats my boat – until now. Villiers is the modern, upmarket yet relaxed wine bar I've been looking for and I totally fell in love on my first visit.

The decor is simple without being basic – classy and chic, with exposed ceilings to give it a bit of an industrial feel. We only had about an hour for a drink but that's plenty of time for a wine and cheese board!

I ordered a cheeseboard and small glass off the menu. Now I can't tell you what either of these were as their selection changes regularly, but I was super impressed by both. The cheeses are from George Mewes and they were beautifully presented and introduced by our French waitress. The portion sizes were decent for us to share between the two of us. I also loved the cheese knives so much I ordered some for myself to use at home!

Aside from cheese and wine, they also do charcuterie, bottled beers, cakes, filled rolls, hot drinks and the wines are also available to buy to take home if you want a takeaway option.

This review is a little short-n-sweet as we were only there for a short visit, but I will definitely be back soon!
