Hi.

Welcome to The Glasgow Food Blog. I love Glasgow, and I love food. It's a match made in heaven.

Gusto & Relish
729 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow South Side G41 2AA

As a south sider of 6+ years I was totally kicking myself that I'd never been here til last week. I've always had the best intentions, but I just never made it.

I was in for some food but just made a super quick decision when I saw the menu - Eggs Florentine with added spinach. What can I say, I'm a bit addicted to Eggs Benny and all its variations. This place is really nice inside - classier than your average cafe and pretty cosy. The breakfast tea was delicious and service was warm and friendly.

I loved the presentation of the eggs - generous with a lovely rocket salad on the side and an added side which I think was a potato scone (I ate it too quickly to remember properly). The only reason I have to dock a star is that the muffins were burnt in parts which I know sometimes happen but my god I hate a burnt muffin. The rest of the dish was just lovely though and I really enjoyed it.

Prices are reasonable for the area, and as I said, the staff are really friendly. They don't seem to have a huge deli section (as mentioned in some other reviews) but that wouldn't put me off going back for lunch or breakfast. Also, it looks like they don't have a customer toilet but if you ask the staff, they'll point you behind the counter and past the kitchen down the stairs.
