Hi.

Welcome to The Glasgow Food Blog. I love Glasgow, and I love food. It's a match made in heaven.

Dean's
23 Byres Road, Glasgow G11 5RD

I love a cheese toastie, so I do! I knew that Salt Deli had recently closed down and was excited to see it's already re-opened as Dean's - a cafe mostly focussing on toasties but they also do cakes, sandwiches, salad, soup and breakfast rolls, too.

I popped in to get a sandwich takeaway as I was on my way to an appointment. Their toastie selection is pretty mouthwatering: there's a haggis option, pulled pork, tuna, pastrami and halloumi - as well as your standard cheese only option. I got the NYC - pastrami, gherkin, cheddar and mustard. It was freshly made and nicely presented in a tray and then placed in a bag which meant the greasy cheese didn't soak through.

While the cafe is small, it's got a nicely friendly vibe and Dean was really chatty and friendly. I'll definitely be back soon as I want to try the dessert toastie menu (mischievous melts) which sound amazing!
