Welcome to The Glasgow Food Blog. I love Glasgow, and I love food. It's a match made in heaven.
All in Lunch
Six by Nico is the talk of the town this year in Glasgow – they stormed onto the Finnieston scene with their new restaurant offering a set 6-course menu which changes every 6 weeks.
Choosing where to go for birthday lunch is a pretty big decision for me, but this year it was pretty simple. We'd been to Alchemilla in December and I was totally blown away by the food, so we booked for lunch on my birthday.
Sushi burrito is one of my all-time-favourite things I've ever eaten, but I never expected to find a place doing them in Glasgow. So when I spied Temaki on facebook, I honestly nearly fell off my chair.
Their toastie selection is pretty mouthwatering: there's a haggis option, pulled pork, tuna, pastrami and halloumi.
I love Taste Buchanan - what a great idea to make the traditionally boring shopping centre food court somewhere you'd actually want to eat!
I actually don't know if you'd notice that it was vegan - I asked what was in it and it's vegan sausage and chutney which was just perfect. I actually wish I'd gotten two as I liked it that much.
Yassssss who doesn't love a cheese toastie? I really needed a pick-me-up this morning so headed for Brew Box after a meeting nearby.
I got a Vietnamese Chicken Twerker... If you like satay flavours, you'll love this sandwich.
Not going to lie, I was ridiculously excited for Papercup opening a 2nd location in Glasgow.
I'm a little bit in love with this place and was really impressed after my visit yesterday - delicious food, great decor and friendly staff.
I also love the brunch offerings and have even had eggs florentine as an afternoon snack.
Yasss - I've got to say, I really, really love the new McPhabbs.
First impressions might be that this is a paleo cafe, and I guess it does cater to that customer but they are actually also brilliant for anyone with dietary requirements/allergies, or anyone who just wants really tasty food.
The city centre location is bright and airy and makes for a perfect relaxed lunch spot.
I visited for lunch this week and I was blown away by three words I've never heard in a sentence before: VIETNAMESE CHICKEN TWERKER.
I'm a bit in love with this cafe already, after just one (quick) visit. I needed lunch but didn't have much time, so just popped in for a takeaway sandwich and soup.
